Moving Day

Woo! Moving Day! I gots me a new apartment, what's up! I've been spending the whole day getting stuff from my last apartment to my new, bigger one, and in this I did a lot of driving back and forth. So today I thought I'd talk about driving, or rather the biggest things about it that annoy the hell out of me.

The number one thing that I hate most when I drive is when people tailgate me. You know, where they can't be bothered to wait twenty damned seconds longer to get to their destination, so they decide to ride 2 inches from my ass. It makes me nervous as hell, self-conscious, and ultimately it affects my driving. Hell, today I almost got into an accident because I was distracted by the self-righteous ass two inches behind me, and nearly failed to notice that the man in front of me had stopped.

I'm feeling tired from a long day of work, so I'm just going to stop at that pet peeve of driving, maybe more tomorrow... So what do you guys think about tailgating basterds? Any personal tips on dealing with the stress/how to deal with them in general?

  2. Dunno man, tailgaters are really annoying. If you're mean and ballsy, you can break suddenly or gradually slow down just to send them a message.

  3. congrats man. Tailgaters suck but when people drive slow in the left lane, they DESERVE to be tailgated.

you living alone or with roommate(s)?

  5. If you're feeling gutsy I do what Con Queso does and give them a good ol' fashioned brake check. They're usually pretty quick to back off after that.

  9. I don't deal with tailgaters. I ride a bike. That comes with much greater threats... Like getting hit by someone driving a car. But tailgaters are dicks in general.

  15. I tailgate all the time but I never get right up to the vehicle. I only do it to improve my cars fuel efficiency.

yes tailgating is probably one of the more annoying things people can do out on the roads. I haven't really come up with a solution as to how to really handle em effectively. =(

  22. Sometimes I'll just randomly slam on the brakes when I'm getting tailgated. If I know the person behind me can't pass me I'll go really slow.

  28. I'm sorry you had such a rough time. My general way of deal with them is softly letting up on the gas til I'm going roughly 5 miles an hour. They usually don't follow you so close afterwords.

  30. You got that right, tailgaters are jerks. If you are ready for a bit whiplash and maybe wanna make some money off of it, HIT YOUR BRAKES next time. That could be fun.

  31. We all hate tailgaters. If they're really bad I'll hit the brakes to give them a scare, but usually I play it safe and just drive slower and slower until they back off or go around.

  33. You moved?

Ah, yes, tailgaters can lick it. I kinda get perturbed when people forget to turn their blinkers off, or the opposite of that, don't use them at all.
