Typing

So I recently found out that I type at a speed of ~110 words per minute. What's up! So I thought I'd just type about a small observation that I observed in an observational manner some time ago: I only hit the space bar with my left thumb. It's really clear on my MacBook Pro because it's slightly more shiny when you look at it in the light than anywhere else on the bar. So is this just me or do others do this, too?


Man, my right thumb must feel unimportant...


I know, kinda lame post today. Not every post can be a gem though, eh? Anyways, I'm planning a little something something for you guys coming up soon, so make sure you don't take sandpaper to your unborn children just yet.

Edit: also, I think I'm going to add a list of great blogs in the sidebar; if you want to be put in, leave a comment and explain why you think you should be added.

    i just looked on mine and there are two shiny spots so i use both my thumbs.. but actually while typing this i am just using my right thumb to hit the spacebar.

    mind blown. in before i am always aware of my thumb hitting the keyboard from now on. fuuuu

    Mine is equally shiny, but I'm also ambidextrous. I wonder if there's any science to that (I fail at science, so who knows).

    Now that you mentioned it, I noticed I hate the space bar almost exclusively with my right thumb.

    i'm testing which thumb i use more often to space out words. the right ones wins.

    also, i hated having shiny keys because it made me feel like i'm a dirty fucktwat, so i got stickers to cover a majority of the keys

    So, I will be honest in saying that I have not thought about typing in a very long while. It would seem that I, in fact, type with both...favoring one side or the other based on what letters (and thus which side of the keyboard) are being used more at the moment.

    I usually only use my left thumb, as well. But I do notice that I also leave my right thumb on the spacebar on occasion, but will move my left thumb out of the way to actually hit it (by on the space bar, I mean hovering closely above it).

    As for the list of blogs being put on the wall thing, you should decide for yourself who's is better than others. Check out my blog and you should be able to decide if it's worth putting on a list or not.

    I am always using my right thumb for the space button. I guess my keyboard just is that way.

    dude you know what's embareassing? I've spent the majority of my life in front of a computer and I still do the "hunt and peck" method of typing I used to always ask if I could just write out my homework lol
